Seems as if you all are doing a lot of good work and enjoying yourselves.

A few things to try:

You may have had nyama choma already but my favorite is mbuzi choma - roast goat. Try it with ugala (use your fingers!) and sukumuwiki. Kuku choma - roast chicken - is pretty darn good too,as is roasted corn.

Taste "Stoney" (aka 'Tangawizi' in Kiswahili). It's a local East African gingerale that's incredible. You can get it at the Coca-Cola museum here in Atlanta, but it's not the same.

East Africa has some of the best Indian food anywhere outside India and London. A place I like (in case you all have time and means to get there) is "Haandi" at The Mall in Westlands (intersect in Uhuru Highway and Rong Road). Wow.

When you all are at Keokorok in the Mara you should be able to find Lilac-breasted Rollers - totally cool birds that spin as they fly.

Meet as many people as you can, try to learn some Swahili, look RIGHT before crossing the street, avoid matatus, take your malaria prophylaxis, and duck if you see any "Flying Toilets" (Ken can explain....)!

Here's something to think about: Where do people get water to drink in Kibera?

OK, it's 'twenda ya kazi' (back to work) for us. Keep posting you're goings on!
