Last Day at Maasai Mara

Jambo from the Maasai Mara National Park!

This is our last day at the Maasai Mara. Tomorrow morning we leave early for the drive back to Nairobi. Yesterday we went to the launch site of the balloons at 5.30 am, waited until 7 am, and the pilot had to call of the flight because the wind was too turbulent.

Today we got up at 5 am again, went to the balloon site at 5.30 am, and we were airborne for about 90 minutes. It was amazing, we were flying most of the time just above the tree tops, and at the highest point, we were 10 stories high!

We had a great breakfast in an open field on the plains that make the park at the end of our balloon ride.

We hope to get pictures to you all soon!

Up Up and Away...90 minutes aloft skimming the treetops...awesome. We can't wait to hear about all that you saw! You certainly had to be up extra early those days but it sounds like it was so worth it...something you will never forget. Each time you leave a place, I feel sad for that part of the trip to end but excited for the next part of your adventure. Be well...enjoy all those lovely lodges...travel safely...best to all...love to Allison...Stacey
